At the end of May we took a few couples to Ocean Isle Beach for a Marriage Retreat.
We have finalized plans on the next service project. We have been asked to construct a wheelchair ramp and do some yard work/landscaping.
We will be serving a military family in Monroe. The son has been deployed to Iraq. He leaves his mother, who has back problems, his grandmother age 86, and a friend that has been trying to help with the care of the grandmother. The ramp is for easier access for his grandmother. The landscaping will consist of planting a flowerbed and laying some pine straw.
Since the family lives in Monroe, we will make an effort to share the gospel and get them plugged in to one of the local churches. We will be trying to contact another family that is more local and possibly fits into our class demographic to minister to on a more regular basis.
The scheduled date is Saturday May 9th. We will plan to meet at the church (North campus) at 7:30 Saturday morning to carpool there. Please prayerfully consider serving.
